German Network for Workplace Health Promotion DNBGF
Workplace Health Promotion in Europe
The German Network for Workplace Health Promotion (DNBGF) seeks to strengthen the dissemination of workplace health promotion (WHP) in Germany. DNBGF is a platform for the national exchange of experience and information by stakeholders in the field of WHP and open to all professionals (organisations, networks, individuals), who wish to work together in disseminating "good practice" for WHP.
DNBGF is the first and only network for WHP in Germany to address all aspects of working life. As opposed to other initiatives, the network does not focus on particular regions or settings. The DNBGF links existing initiatives and encourages activities in areas that have been neglected so far. The network consists of four forums:
- health service and welfare
- small and medium-sized enterprises
- labour market integration and health promotion
- public administration.
These forums work independently; however they do follow the same methodological approaches. Each forum is managed by co-ordinators and supported by the secretariat.
The Network was initiated by the European Network for Workplace Health Promotion (ENWHP), which is supported by the European Commission, General Direction "Health and Consumer Protection" . The DNBGF is supported by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the Federal Ministry of Health.
A staffed office has been implemented to coordinate DNBGF activities. It is supported by the BKK Federal Association, the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV), the Association of Substitute Health Funds (vdek) and the IKK e.V. as part of their joint Initiative for Work and Health (iga).
